I am looking for some new blogs to read and I have no way to find them besides looking at other peoples blog lists. Then I tried blog searches on Google but that doesn't work too well. I like to have a mix of moms and cops wives and crunchy, earthy people, funny people and nature and art lovers. I don't really have that much in common with many sahm's as I am not living in the woods using wool diapers that I knitted myself, I also am not staying at home for any Biblical reason (not that there's anything wrong with that). Like I said, I like a good mix in my list. How does one find all the different bloggers? I have also tried pressing on some of the words on my profile and that doesn't really necessarily bring up what I'm looking for. Any ideas? Oh, and I am very, VERY, down-to-earth so the "Perfect Mommy" blogs are not my thing either. Appreciate any suggestions.

You can see all the blogs I follow on my profile (well, there's more in my RSS feed readers as well)

Since I follow everything via my reader (versus the "follow" button) it gives me suggestions based upon what I'm following. Although the biggest way has been clicking on comments I like in other blogs and seeing what the commentor is all about. Works quite often.
Hope all is well in your world. :)
Thanks guys! I wondered if the following had some advantage? I thought it was just a way to show your friends like Facebook? Are there other advantages to following? I appreciate your suggestions and look forward to trying the blogs too! (Preggy Mama Stacy :)
I follow in Google reader so I can read both on my phone and at any computer where I log in to google. I stopped following via the Follow button because it really did feel like FB's "how popular am I" although that's perhaps not the point.
So I guess the big advantage is being able to read everything in text format and skim thru what's out there. It should be easily accessible via your profile? Yes???
The only way I've successfully found is to do exactly what you're doing already. I typically find mine through what I already follow and then click on their various follower blogs.
I've tried googling and that in my opinion is a terrible way it never finds anything I like.
The clicking on your interests in your own blog has pulled up a few results but not many.
I didn't realize the google reader would suggest stuff that's pretty useful!
Here's a photo site I really enjoy and visit everyday, but it's not really a blog just a site that gets updated daily. I usually find stuff through there since people leave comments and will include their blog so I visit and then the domino effect happens!
www.shuttersisters.com (love the name by the way!) it's a site of all women photographers...oh I just thought of another one but's it's also photography (of course!)

Enjoy!
I blog jump from one blog to another via their blogrolls. You can find some interesting blogs that way. Probably how I found you.
Yes, following a blog in Blogger adds them to your RSS feed in Google Reader.

Just use the same log-in info as you use for blogger!
Haha, yes - we're so excited! We'll find out if it's a boy or girl on May 10th!! Cannot wait!
Geez...well I can't help. I'm too busy knitting my baby's diapers...
But what they all said...I blog hop through other's blog rolls when I have time. That's how I found you, my sister from another mother! :)
HAHAHAHA! Dori, You just made me almost choke on my pb toast with your knitting remark :) Thanks for the input. Sistah....
I do the same as Meadowlark,I click on the commentors to check out other blogs.Love the reader too.
I'm always looking for neat places to visit and then I get overwhelmed with the endlessness of "amazing" blogs. YOu know what I mean? And I have to stop reading perfect mommy blogs (friends included) becausse they seriously make me feel guilty or bad about myself! I don't know if I have any recommendations. I like sweet juniper! a lot. That's all I got.
