Can you believe that this stroller full of plastic came from our walk yesterday. We made our way through the long way and the stroller bin was full after half of the walk. Sad. Hoping this all came from blowing out of recycle bins on windy days but I'm sure much also comes from people who litter. Not sure why you'd want to litter at all or at least litter in your own neighborhood. See my Pik Stik. We picked up a 2 pack at Costco for under $20 a week or two ago. That was the night we had grandparents watch our little guy and went to see Funny Games (which by the way I would not recommend . . . . very disturbing . . . . . husbands pick). We got out of the movie early and wanted to kill time before going back home. Anyway, these Pik Stiks are awesome. I am short and constantly need one in the house to reach things. I also clean up litter constantly wherever we go when we walk so having one in the stroller also handy, plus I don't have to use the germy outside one in our home.
Today was our first day at the Little Learners class I signed little buddy and I up for. This is the second week but last week he and I were sick. We also had a Tot Rock class on Monday that was pretty fun. I think he had a good time. I love being involved in classes like that with him. He is very, very slowly coming out of his shell. I think I prefer the Tot Rock class. It has lots of music and dancing and clapping and stomping and singing too. Little Learners is fun but it is more of an introduction to preschool so it's not as interactive as Tot Rock. This winter we weren't in anything. Last spring, summer and fall we took swimming, mommy and me, infant massage and attended a few free story times at the library. I would also like to do mommy/baby yoga and maybe some tumbling.
We kinda turned a corner with the sleep issue. I managed to shift his bedtime to 9 instead of 8. He then was either sleeping through the night or only waking once. Yeah! He then went back to 2 naps instead of one. He started to get up earlier which took some getting used. From nursing all night to not I have noticed the weight loss slow way down. I am currently down 24 pounds. That is good but have 18 more to go to get to my conception weight. I DO NOT want to conceive again at anything higher. I was big as a house last time and very uncomfortable so I feel that if I at least start at the same weight as last time I will have a head start. This time pregnancy will be different for sure. I plan to eat more healthy foods and more sensibly. I am not pregnant and want to wait til little buddy is at least 2 or so to try again. We'll see.

I should pick up a pick stick to take along on my walks. Congrats on all the weight loss! I had wanted to lose all the baby weight before I got pregnant again, but I didn't, so the second time around, I made a point not to gain much weight. I think I managed to keep the weight gain to just 15 pounds, and I was able to lose that in the first 4 weeks after she was born. Keep up the good work. I'm so looking forward to getting back in the swing of things with weight loss.
Great to hear the family is getting some sleep! Sounds promising.
Plastic can't live with it but... hard to live without it. I read an article called 'Plastic people of the Universe'. (Discover, May 2008 edition.) It questions whether our plastic use is affecting the health and fertility of our children. The author goes on further with a cute side bar 'A day without plastic' as she carries on her day using plastic that we all forget about. (computer screen, toothbrush...) A good read!
Yea for picking up litter! And you most certainly were not "big as a house" when you were pregnant, you were gorgeous and radiantly happy. It was wonderful to see you like that ... and I hope it happens again (fairly) soon! :)
Awesome job picking up all that litter! I am very impressed.
I need to clean up my own yard soon. All kinds of nasty litter blew in from somewhere because none of it is mine! I love that you pick it up as you walk.
Our subdivision is just the same! I cannot stand it! How can people throw trash out their car window when they are within yards of their own homes? Why can't they use an ounce of common sense and wait until they get home to throw their trash away? I take a lot of walks with our two dogs and often times I will take an extra bag or two (in addition to poo bags) to collect the cans and plastic recyclable items I see. I am pretty sure the neighbors think I am crazy hauling around two dogs and picking up litter. But I can't stand to see all that trash in our neighborhood all the time. Glad to hear I am not the only person picking up trash - makes me feel a little less like the neighborhood crazy person. :)!
Oh, I need one of those stick things you have to pick up the litter with! I will have to keep my eye out for one of those!
Oh gosh I know what you mean SuzyQ. I feel like alot of people kinda smirk at me when I'm picking up garbage like they are so above it. Sometimes people say thanks when they see me do it. I just wonder why more people don't at least pick up their own yards, sidewalks, driveways? That makes no sense to me! It gives me a headache to see all the trash everywhere. I like to see beauty and order. Oddly, I majored in art and used to be a graphic designer too before I had little buddy. I HATE TRASH!
