So it has been absolutely ridiculously hot here the last few days. The extreme humidity just exacerbates the heat issue. Today for example, we have a heat index of 105 degrees. Just walking to and from the car is sweltering and exhausting. Yesterday we tried to take Little Buddy to the pool. That was a nice concept but he is terrified of the water? We tried everything with no luck. We just ended up getting hotter and more frustrated standing inches away from relief with a hot, squirming, screaming 2 year old not able to even put our feet in because of the terror. Well, being an awful mommy I walked under the giant sprinklers at the kid part of the pool and then there was a screaming wet mad kid on my hip. OY! We are planning a family trip to the Dells to stay at a nice resort with several huge water parks at the end of July. Hoping that I can bring him a few more times and work our way into the water. Anyone have any suggestions? Then the day before we went to the zoo. That was fun but sooooo hot and another day of Little Buddy being way too hot and when I walked through the crowd mister that they have going in extreme heat, he was a basket case. We did have fun but the heat is so hard to do stuff in, especially little kids and pregnant moms in extreme heat.
Maybe I will try to set up the kiddie pool on the deck tonight or tomorrow and try that first. It's much closer to bath tub size and he LOVES baths.
Oh, yesterday was the 23rd. We went for our level 2 ultrasound to see of there were any issues with the baby. Everything not only measured perfectly, the baby's due date just from the tech entering the measurements in the computer came up only one day away from the due date. The skin on the back of the neck was fabulous and my cervix which is always under close watch due to having a bicornuate uterus measured over 4 centimeters. The say that 3.5 centimeters is normal so I am better than normal. Yeah!!! Cop Dad and I are so relieved. I thought for sure that they would find something, anything to pick on but nope! Everything is FABULOUS!
Been a lot busier lately. Summer means play dates. Now I have one day of the week designated to one friend for a play date and then one evening designated to another friend for an evening play date. Feels good to get out and be able to talk to other moms. Life is good. Tomorrow night another evening play date with my good friend Becki and her girls and then we will be having a girls night on Saturday night. Yippee!!! Just hope it cools down just enough to not be so dangerous. I love being outdoors and doing fun things, pregnancy in the heat is not so fun though. What have you all been up to so far this summer? Hot by you?

Yipee for the Great U/S!! I am so happy for you all. Hmm, I think you have a great idea to start with a baby pool that is close to a bath and move up to bigger pools. It's hot here, but not so humid. It's 85 degrees, 41% humidity, downright pleasant compared to you. Ah, the Midwest...
I actually just posted about our day in the sun, so you'll have to check it out!
I can't imagine how hard it would be to have a terrified toddler when it comes to water parks. My babies LOVE water in all forms. Sorry that doesn't really help...but I think the kiddy pool will! It gives him a chance to acclimate slowly but surely.
It's always such a relief to hear that all is well in the pregnancy world, so congrats on all of that!
I hope you enjoy your girl's night! It's always so fun to be a girl. Sigh.
Yea on the great news! And sorry about the heat! But, yea!! I know that takes a huge load off of you! Now go enjoy being pregnant! And being a family of three for just a little longer!
I'm happy to hear that everything looks good! Yay!
I think the kiddie pool idea is a good one.
It has been miserably hot here as well. Though not in the triple digits yet!
