I was just awarded this from Mrs. Officer over at mrsofficer2u.blogspot.com. A fabulous new LEOW blog pal of mine that is fun, nice, and full of kindness. Thanks!!!
The Honest Scrap Award comes with some rules too. In order to accept it you must list 10 honest things about yourself and then pass the award along to some other bloggers. Here are ten honest things about me:
1) I have a horrrrrrrrible sweet tooth. I hide bits of chocolate and such around the house sometimes.
2) I am drawn to people who are down to earth, and need that quality in any friend I make.
3) I wish I had a different build. I am short and large boned and even at my thinnest have big feet, fingers, head, wrists, etc. and am very muscular. "Strong like bull."
4) I love vegetables! Probably more than fruit, meat, or dairy. Please don't put fruit in my salad or fruit flavored anything on my food. No apricot vinaigrette on my steamed asparagus either. Blagh!
5) I am not a sitter. I cannot sit for long periods of time and watch TV or anything else. Life is too short. I have to clean or walk or garden or cook or anything other than sitting.
6) I am very sound sensitive and LOVE quiet and peace. Kids will be kids but I do not want to listen to your cheap, noisy pool pump 24 hours a day all summer or your dog barking outside for hours, or your pipes revving in your driveway regularly or your bass thumping at 2am, that kind of thing.
7) I have a HUGE problem with passive aggressive people. I am very upfront and honest and don't like wasting my time reading between the lines and find it to be very petty and dysfunctional.
8) I LOVE to laugh!!! I try to find humor in most things even when they are bothering me. Though it seems that God puts many uptight people in my path, not sure how to deal with that. I like when people can laugh at themselves too :)
9) I am a worry wart!
10) I believe that children are an important part of the world but not that they should be the center of the universe. I am always pointing out to my son that there are people trying to shop and eat and live around him and to use a restaurant voice, watch where you're going, etc. Nothing bothers me more than parents that let their children run wild and glare at the rest of the world around them.
I am passing this on to Natalie from Walking a Thin Blue Line, Dori from Simply Dori and Monica from Loud and Proud. Please post this award or some very juicy, honest details about yourself or just feel flattered and laugh and point at my list :)

Fun to get to know more about you. Now who am I going to pass mine on to?! All the PWs are going to have this on their blog pretty soon. :)
Question: On a comment you left yesterday, you said your husband just did DTI. What is that?
Not laughing.
#6 - me too. In fact, I can't stand what people call "white noise". The ocean makes me headache. I grew up on 12,000 acres in the middle of nothing where all you could hear was miles and miles of emptiness. My big complain living in a suburb is having to hear "other people's lives".
#9 - THANK YOU. Not NEARLY enough people do this. I never knew if it was the way society has changed, the fact that parents are older or what. But it makes me CRAZY. I do not want your child walking around my table at IHOP while I eat breakfast, thank you. Put him in his seat!!!!
Love you, chica!
Thank you MommaV for my Award! 7 & 8 I totally agree!
Hey Mrs. Fuzz, Thankfully I snagged up the last few Honest Scrappers LEOW's I know that hadn't been awarded already. DTI stands for Defensive Tactics Instructor. Here is a link to better definition:
http://www.policeone.com/police-products/training/press-releases/1351703-Defensive-tactics-arrest-control-instructor-course-Sept-17-28-Santa-Barbara/
So every time that there is a new defense tactic for the PD to learn then he has to train everyone too. He came home that week pretty sore and exhausted too.
Meadowlark, I have no idea where some of the parenting comes from but it really gets under my skin. Maybe it's cause I am an older parent and was trying to live for so many years and go places and kids were climbing all over the place. I LOVE kids but feel they need to be taught to fit in and have consideration for the rest of the world too. If you start this young then it is not such a horrible shock to them when they are older and misbehaving, I think anyway. Oh and the noise, UGH! Yes, I live in a noisy suburbia and try to be considerate and then the rest of the world around me thinks they are pretty darn cool or fabulous or whatever, whatever. Shut up! Our neighbors are sooooooo noisy that we had to get a white noise machine for when Little Buddy was a baby and even then they were waking him up at all hours with their beer bottles and drunk shouting and pool pump, OK you get the picture.
L&P, You are very welcome. I have someone close to me that is passive aggressive yet thinks they are really nice, it is so exhausting. Is the confrontation of speaking your mind that hard? Guess so. Then the funny stuff, well, I like to make people laugh and make jokes out of things that are harder for me to deal with. Life is funny AND short, too short to be so serious all the time.
hey, i agree most definately with #10- i halfway wrote a comment but then decided to write a post instead becouse the comment got alittle out of control. i have quoted and linked you, i hope you dont mind, please let me know if you would prefer i took it off or anything.
:)
Heck no Tara,
Feel free and thanks for sharing in the opinion. I do not know if you have stopped by here before if you have and I did not acknowledge you I apologize. Nice to meet you. I have visited you before and need to add you to my blogroll, doing it now. Thanks for the comment and the link and sharing.
Agree on #9 and spend lots of time "preaching" that with the little ones in this house.
wahaha this award is great for us LEO wives to learn about each other. And it looks like you passed it to the very last of us! I totally love chocolate which is why i dont keep it in the house! I have a box of hawaiian chocolate macadamia nuts here and i had to hide from myself. And the whole passive aggressive thing, ugh people see you and say nothing and then tell the world things. So dumb, it i dont like you , you will know and then be forgotten! Life is too short to spend it on that! And I hope your doing good, baby soon to come:)
Hey Slam Dunks,
Nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by. Did you mean number 10? Or do you just have worry warts in your house? My first grade teacher called me that and I guess it's just who I am no matter what I do, just a worrier by nature. Just added you to my blogroll :)
Mrs. Officer,
Thanks again. It IS interesting to see what people list and to get to know the LEOW's more too. Passive aggressive in my world, is someone saying things in front of me pretending to be referring to someone else but really trying to make me feel bad. Yuck! Though I think there are different forms of it, sure I have had many a back stabber in my day that has bad-mouthed me. Shame on them!!! I am not perfect and have my own faults too but that one (passive aggressive remarks to my face or in earshot) makes me nuts!!!
Thanks SO much! I was so flattered you thought of me until I read your comment reply to Mrs. Fuzz that we were just the last PWs that hadn't been picked yet...story of my life to be picked last! J/K
Oh! I'm going to post it on my family blog instead of the cop wives one I contribute to so I had paste the link on the sidebar. I'm more open on the family blog anyway, so hopefully that doesn't throw any groove off! ;)
