I picked up one of these for Cop Dad a few years ago for Christmas from a local uniform shop nearby. He LOVED it and the fact that he was able to have the best of both worlds: Carry around all his credit cards, money, etc. AND he got to carry around his off duty badge and his commission card as well. You can find many different uniform and police stores that either carry badge wallets or who can order them for you. There are also countless police supply websites who sell them. The only thing you really have to think about is the bifold/trifold option and what badge style/number your LEO has. Cop Dad's PD had that info when I needed it, I imagine most would. This badge wallet is not the one that Cop Dad has, but you get the idea. I have a few other very practical LEO gift ideas to share and was going to do it in one big post but figured it was easier right now to do one here and there.

I can't see, but does it have the flap that covers the badge?
I had to search high and low to find one so that Husband could show his ID WITHOUT also showing his badge. Unfortunately, he's getting to the point where he needs a new wallet and the search is about to begin again. :(
What a great Christmas gift idea.
I have been wanting to get my dh one but havent really looked, thanks for the idea.I have a cousin who does leather work maybe i can get him to inscribe something to make it extra special.
Meadowlark, this is just an image that I quickly grabbed from the web. Hubby's has the velvet-like flap and he prefers that as well. It appears as though pictured wallet does not have the cutout, sunken badge part either. Cop Dad's does. Both help to protect badge, rest of contents from indentations from the badge, AND hides commission card too. ALL great features, that Cop Dad likes in his. I should have grabbed a better image, but thought this got the idea across. Good luck in your search!
L&P, Cop Dad LOVES his and the year I gave it to him a bunch of other cops were wanting one too. Thought that most cops would have one of these but I guess not. The inscription on it WOULD be really nice too :)
Good idea momma val, I wish the hubs was a wallet man but he loves all those other gadgets in the uniform store. Right now its a flashlight that cost 200 buck! seriously a flashlight? He has a thing for flashlights of all kind, wierd I tell you
Mrs.O, That is tooooo funny you mention it because Cop Dad just bought some new special fancy schmancy flashlight that is not required and he already has 2 flashlights that are required. This new one is called a strobe streamlight of some sort. It is smaller but has this blinding halogen bluish light and you can use the strobe to blind people. I just wanted to try it for the strobe effect when dancing. Ha! We brought it on one of our many night walks and it was wayyyyy too bright for just pointing out bugs and worms on a nice family walk. These men and their "accessories." I like to tease mine all the time :)
That's a great idea! Hubs always packs while off-duty so he keeps his badge right next to the gun as a self-explanatory reason, but I still like the wallet idea.
That's funny about the flashlights. FH has his own wish list all prioritized, and for some reason, I can never remember any of it... ;)
As a Rookie I bought all of the cop toys. Now being in the business for 23 plus something years, I would not have a badge wallet. Safety is number 1 reason why. I carry my id is a 3.99 dollar holder that goes around the neck and in a pocket when not needed. The holder was bought at wal-mart or some store like that. My badge I have a belt clip for and weaar it next to my gun. If off duty and conceal carry the badge could go into a pocket or turn the clip around and clip it inside the belt so the badge is not showing. If you ever get robbed you dont want the crook to know you are the po=po. I have a regular wallet with my regular life stuff in it. I was in a position where I was being held up by gun point and them not know who I was I was able to turn the tables. Flashlights, You can NEVER go wrong there. LED!
Over here cops are issued with the badge in a wallet that also holds cards and police id, they are required to carry it at all times, on and off duty. His last birthday he got a stack of "tools" not required but he assured me "all the guys had them and he really needewd them" Cant think af all of them but one was a leatherman multitool, and a torch(flashlight to those in the US).
