Since I was a small child my mother bought this bread. I have always loved it even then. She would slather it with Hellman's and put fresh lettuce and tomatoes and some type of meat too. The next door neighbor when I was a kid had a huge garden, so we would often get garden fresh veggies to put on our sandwiches. I can still remember her, Mrs. Scanlon. Anyway, not sure if you too are a fan or have even ever had this bread, but it is superior wheat bread. Only you have to keep it the fridge because they use only natural preservatives and it can spoil fast on the counter.
I still love to get Brownberry Wheat Bread even though Arnold bought them out not long ago. I like to toast it and then put plenty of freshly crisped romaine on it, Hellman's (don't be shy), and then vine tomatoes. Won't waste my money on the cheapo cardboard tomatoes that never really ripen or get truly red. Then sometimes I add a meat either Sara Lee Honey Turkey from the deli OR Costco chemical and hormone free rotisserie chicken slices. Then I mash it all down and slice diagonally. Ah, heaven!
Do you have any favorite sandwich combinations or other foods that you buy and throw together fairly frequently. I have been feeling better but many foods that I normally love have not appealed to me. This has, so I have been making these lately. Pretty healthy minus the mayo and the lunch meat. Tell me what grocery foods (or stuff you keep around the house regularly) you love to eat.
*Ooh, also makes a killer toasted, buttered, scrambled egg sandwich. Mmmmmmm good!

My husband has been on a chicken breast kick lately. As long as we don't eat it too often and get totally tired of it I like it and it is healthy. We discovered that if you bake it in foil the breasts are totally moist and wonderful! (We buy individually frozen breasts.) We top the meat with a grilling spice we found at Wal-Mart, which I love and use on everything. I like garlic spice the best but lemon zest or whatever is good too.
Ooh, I have moved on from breasts to boneless/skinless thighs from Costco. Sooooo good! Then I throw some Sweet Baby Rays on last minute, OY! Drooling, haven't gotten them in awhile.
I make a great egg salad sandwich. Also, toasted french bread with apricot preserves with a slice of brie melted on top, Bellisimo!!!
When we were kids we used to make English muffin pizzas w/tomato paste and mozzarella. Also delish. Thanks for the memories, also your nice comment about our bike drama. My Dh thinks it's a kid, I hope so just for the reasons you mentioned but plan to assume the worst. Take care, off to check out your LB picture.
I love sandwiches. I love them even more when I don't make them. That said, I do make grilled cheese on the George Foreman with potato bread and sharp white cheddar. Another favorite is toasted and buttered bread with tuna (no mayo or any condiments just the melted butter).
Mhmm, bread!
