Sesame Street Live!!!

OK, I was going to wait to post this until next week, BUT I am so excited I cannot wait any longer. My husband saw a drive they were having for WTTW (our local PBS station), awhile back. They often have incentives geared towards different ages and interests. The incentive that they offered when he was watching were tickets to Sesame Street Live at the Rosemont Horizon in the beginning of May. He got all excited, (funny when a serious cop-type gets all excited about Sesame Street :). And got on the phone instantly and ordered tickets right away. We then become members of WTTW which has many other added perks such as restaurant, museum, B&B/resort discounts, etc.

So the time is nearing and I can hardly wait. We are going to have so much fun! Not sure how shy Little Buddy is going to handle all the excitement. We even have back stage passes for a meet and greet party before the show. Woo Hoo! Although, thinking LB will have issues with the up close and personal of large costumed characters like I always did. Surely, we will have lots of fun watching the show. We have never taken LB to anything like this before not even a movie yet. I'm thinking if it becomes too long we can just stay for awhile and then head out still having gotten our money's worth. Just to see LB watching and enjoying the show should be thrill enough. He LOVES Sesame Street. This tour of Sesame Street Live is called "When Elmo Grows Up."

Then I told cop dad, (hey I like that, think I will keep that one), then I told cop dad to bring lots of cash cause we will be sure to want snackies and shirts too when we're there. I mean, you don't go to Sesame Street Live every day right? Maybe we can even go out to eat on the way there? Or maybe that's overkill for LB, eat at home and save the extra bucks for SSL souvenirs. Through all the number of concerts and exhibits and plays I've been to, I've never been to Rosemont Horizon before. Funny the things that excite you when you are parents :)

OK, now back to the typical Tuesday stuff. Took LB to the pediatrician today cause he refuses to drink milk and eats very little dairy (therefore getting very little calcium). Boy was that fun, taking a fearful 2yo to the doctor. Anyway, he told me to keep trying to push it but then referred me to a dietitian for further advice. Have a Freecycler coming shortly to pick up some generic yogurt that LB won't eat and a loaf of multi grain that I won't eat. I am not that picky but I have my favorite multi grain bread, and the kind I got 'on sale' really sucks. LB just woke up from his nap, and is eating an apple and watching Ruff Ruffman. Not a fan of the show but he does best if he gets a snack and can relax and wake up and watch some PBS before tackling the evening. Feeling increasingly better every day that I haven't taken generic prenatals. AMEN!!!

Don't go!!!!
To this day I panic over people in character costumes. Somebody must have made me go when I was little and scarred me for life.

RUN AWAY!

So glad you are feeling better! Will LB eat ice cream, frozen yogurt? How about pizza? Also, they have calcium enriched juices sold at the grocery.
My boys want us to take them to Bon Jovi and Springsteen, gee time flies.
I do the world's best Elmo imitiation, I kid you not.

Ruff Ruffman has *the best* games on PBSkidgo online. Lots of investigative stuff and thinking games. Lots of fun!

I'm glad you are feeling better! Sesame Street Live? Awesome!

i wonder if there is a dairy product that he would flip over. Maybe cutting the cheese into fun shapes? Or chocolate milk ( i guess you don't want them hooked on that. . .)or something you could sprinkle in yogurt that would be fun to eat? Like, banana slices and granola? that's difficult. I'm always trying to come up with creative ways to get my daughter to eat her vegies. Let us know what you come up with.

I love freecycle. Craving anything yet?

Thanks for the suggestions MF! I am desperate to try anything. He was eating so many things but gradually they began to drop off. Used to eat raw broccoli with ranch but then just stopped cold turkey one day and hasn't gone back. Uh, as for the cravings. I have craved things here and there. I wanted Barnellis ribs the other night and convinced my husband to get them. It was glorious! Then we went out with friends and I had a big Erma's cheddar cheeseburger and fries. Also glorious! I was eating all kinds of healthy foods in the beginning but then went overboard and now feel like ewwww, no more salad or soup or multi grain bread for awhile. Wow, last PG I craved everything night and day . . . . and ate it all too!

Martha, I have been trying everything. He will eat ice cream, and pizza too but man do I feel like a failure cause he won't eat most veggies and dairy. We are not big dairy eaters so I kinda understand that BUT we eat lots of veggies so ? Wish I could see your Elmo impression, I do an awesome Krusty impression :)

I would love to hear your Krusty impression. You are so not a failure!! My 14 y/o son won't eat anything green unless it's a gummy worm. Don't stress about LB's diet, a multivitamin can help and as long as he is healthy.
Ribs, burgers, yummers!
