Sending Goodies To Roll Call
I've been sending goodies to work for my husband and the guys (and girls) in roll call. Today I picked up a bag of Reese's Sticks. Last week I sent homemade pumpkin nut bread. The week before I sent zucchini bread. I have also sent brownies, chocolate chip bars, and peanut butter cookies. I enjoy baking and almost never buy junk food so when I want something, I make it but just eat some and send the rest to the station. Usually, the guys go nuts for the treats. Seems that most of the wives work or only send stuff once in a blue moon. Just curious if you ever send goodies to work for your hubby and the guys in roll call? Or does your wife make stuff for you to bring? Just curious. Figure that once the baby comes, there will be a treat drought for some time so I'm going nuts doing it now :)

I have a hard time getting it from the kitchen counter out the door the next morning. There's usually very little left and Husband doesn't like to share, apparently. :)
Besides, I have a tendency to bake strange things and you know how people don't like "weird" food. (pumpkin cookies with butterscotch chips or sea-salt sprinkled chocolate chip cookies)
I'm sure there's quite the drought ahead!

Meadowlark, I can understand that. My hubby sleep eats and so if there is something to go with him the next day I have to hide it or all that's ;eft is crumbs. Sounds like he does not mind the "weirdness" of what you make? Your cookies sound interesting and not that weird to me:)
L&P, Uh, you completely rock at cooking and I have maybe 5-10 things I cook really well as far as cooking but that's it. AND I do not bake any fussy stuff. Typically batch type treats where you can dump everything into the mixing bowl at once work best for me, no rolling, frosting, cookie cutters, or any of that. I always think it's funny when people are like, "Oh my gosh, you made this from scratch?" Ha! To me that's all I know :) I'll send you some brownies if you send me your turkey meat loaf and mac and cheese :) YUM!
I sent krispie kremes last week with Hf. He said they ate 'em up before he could get one. I wonder sometimes if they would eat up a healthy treat. Like what if I sent a fruit platter?

Ha! Thanks MF! Well I wonder about the fruit platter, especially with men. Many of them were sticking their noses up at zucchini bread and then tried it and could not stop eating it. Cop Dad said they were all skeptical about the pumpkin nut bread too and then wolfed it down after a timid nibble. I think some of the guys were making jokes about how I was able to make all the treats while very pregnant and with a toddler and their wives don't work and have kids in school and never send anything. So maybe a favorite among the guys but the PW's, no telling?
OH gosh,I am one of those wives that they joke about! I guess I better get to making something,cause if you can do it I should be able to!LOL
Momma-once i made brownies for my dd to take to school and they wouldnt come out of the pan,I ended up throwing the pan out cause not matter what I did they were stuck in there!
I ended up having to go to ralphs to buy those little brownie bites at the crack of dawn!
I also love baking ,I sent a big plate full of cookies and brownies I made during xmas.For the holidays(halloween,xmas,easter) I make special baskets for other LEO families we are close too.I actually just made mypumpkin bread on my blog and will be making more tonight for those LEO's lucky enough to get some.I can't make for everyone since there are almost 1000 officers on payroll haha I think my hubby likes it. he says they do, I hope the treats actually make it there though,Im sure a few go missing on his drive to work before they arrive

Yeah, ME!!! That is how beautiful I look at this late stage of my pregnancy. Boobs and all only I don't have as many wrinkles and have more hair. lol
Momma Val no u don't! Your just preggers and soon that baby will pop out and all will be good.
L&P be nice, christmas is coming! And you will beon Santa's naughty list for name calling! lol
I wish I could admit that I was the goody-making kind of wife that shares, but I'm too critical of my baked goods to share it with anyone except family (I blame it on my stupid oven).
They probably wouldn't care, so maybe I should get over it and make my hubby the most popular guy in the station! ;)

Just Bake It!!! I am very critical too. I have sent stuff that I was not sure of and it was wolfed down and complimented by the chief even. Ha! Seriously I think men often many don't get home baked goodies at all WILL EAT ANYTHING anddddddd HAPPILY!!!
Hey if you have any left overs.....I can give you my station address......and by the way I do think pregnant women are beautiful So change that picture!
TGR, OK, I'll change the picture. I'm looking right now for the old one. And leftovers? Ha! The guys at the PD will almost bite your fingers off when you have a treat container their way. My hubby says that about pregnant me BUT at the end you feel more like Jabba The Hut. Ready to be done and begin deflating :)
