By far, the guy in the center guffawing is my favorite person in this painting!

I don't recognize it, but it's really neat and very fitting for the season. I really like this idea that you had for a whole wordless week. I may have to steal the idea when I face writer's block!

Hey Natalie,
I like this one too. I just stumbled on it the other day and don't think we ever covered it in art school? Anyway, it is by Maclise and is titled Snap Apple Night and was supposedly inspired after a Halloween party that he attended. I think the guy that looks like he is laughing is actually trying to bite an apple. I think? If you click on the picture, it should come up bigger and I think many of the party guests are trying to snap apples in their mouths, hence the name. I heart Halloween :)

Thanks! I did click on it, but I'm usually on a laptop and it has a pretty small screen, so I may have to pull it up on a larger one to get a better view.

I love Halloween more now than I ever remember as a child because I'm looking at it from a parent point of view. There are TONS of activities to do, not just Trick-or-Treating (which will be mostly to my parent's neighborhood) and it's so fun to plan!
