Girls Night!

Setting out tonight for yet another girls night. They are pretty tame being that I'm 33 weeks pregnant and a non-drinker besides the fact, which is fine with me, a fan of very simple pleasures. Tonight, I am heading out with my SMIL (step-mother-in-law) for a bite and to see Julie and Julia. I really love my SMIL, I can talk to her about marriage and kids and dysfunction and she gets it and is very patient and understanding. Yep, she rocks. Tonight though, just hanging out. She is married to my FIL and it is humorous to exchange very similar stories about our men. They are wired so much the same, at times we just have to roll our eyes and laugh. Anyway, I told her that I would love to get a bite to eat but have a small food budget so many a burger somewhere. Of course, she insists on treating me to whatever I want, "After all, you are pregnant, you should eat what you really want!" Like I said, she's awesome.

Not sure about the movie, but I like Merryl Streep a lot and love to learn about people who aren't around anymore like Julia Childs. Hope the storyline isn't too hokey. Little Buddy will be hanging with Papa (grandpa) in cop town so maybe daddy will be able to stop by on duty and say hello.

Looking forward to a review... I actually would kind of like to see that movie!

You deserve a treat! Sounds like you have a great SMIL!

Completely inappropriate, but I think the baby widget would be much more fun if it were interactive like the pets you can feed widgets. You know, you could mouse-over and make the baby do flipflops in the womb and stuff?

OK, maybe not.

OK, no that is hysterical and much needed. Perhaps you need to speak to a widget developer? That is funny, then it could make weird faces when you eat things and poke it or strangers rub your tummy. Ha! So appropriate, I wished I thought of it first :)

What an awesome relationship you have with your SMIL! It must be really fun to be able to relate to each other's man so much.

And I totally agree with Meadowlark about the widget idea!

You'll have to do a follow-up on what you thought about the movie (and where you went to eat...I like hearing about good food!). I want to see it but want to hear from others first!

I hear it's a great movie! My best for an enjoyable evening. Your SMIL sounds delightful, my kind of person for sure.

I LOVED it!!! It was cute and funny and I found Julia Childs joyfulness to be quite intoxicating! If you like Merryl Streep and Julia Childs it is a must see. AND I did not think that the story line was hokey at all :) Two women trying to find themselves.

Oops, sorry Natalie. We went to Red Lobster. We both got the wood grilled lobster/shrimp/scallops platter. Then I requested a baked potato rather than rice and it also came with steamed broccoli. I got a house salad with ranch and ate 3!!! of those damn awesome biscuits. I have no idea where I put it cause stomach is so otherwise occupied. Oh and a Sprite and NO movie snack, are you kidding? OY!!!
